The theme for this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight is Tea: “Brew it Fair”.
It aims to contrast the low wages, poverty, gender discrimination, unsafe working conditions, and environmental damage in much of the tea supply chain, with the life enhancing situation on Fairtrade tea estates and co-operative farms.
As well as encouraging people to choose to buy Fairtrade certified tea, we are calling on people to sign a petition to the UK government to pass a law to make businesses responsible for human rights, sustainable practices and environmental protection in their supply chains.
