Fairtrade Fortnight 2019

Fairtrade Fortnight is our annual chance to spread the word about Fairtrade and celebrate its success.

Events for Fairtrade Fortnight 2019

Wed 20th Feb Fairtrade coffee morning at St Joseph,West St, Havant with pancakes and a Fairtrade workshop.10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.

Sat 23rd Feb Big Brew 40th Birthday party for Traidcraft. From 2.30-4.30pm International Hall Emsworth Methodist Church All welcome

Sun. 24 Feb Fairtrade breakfast St Thomas Cathedral . This will be between the two morning services – roughly 8.30 to 10.15 and after the 10.30 service –about 11.30 to 12.15.

Tuesday 26 Feb 10.30 -12 Fairtrade Coffee morning,hosted by the Mayor of Havant in The Public Service Plaza, Havant Borough Council . Come and celebrate Havant’s 10 years as a Fairtrade Borough. £2.50 for coffee, biscuits and our celebration cake

Wed. 27 Feb Group from Admiral Lord Nelson School attending Parliamentary Reception in London with members of the Portsmouth Fairtrade group

Thur. 28 Feb 9.30 am to 11.30 a.m Fairtrade stall with free Fairtrade bananas. Meridian Centre with the Mayor of Havant.

Thur. 28 Feb Fairtrade coffee morning Havant United Reformed Church 10-12. Displays, stalls and a visit from the Mayor and Lady Mayoress

Fri. 1st March Fairtrade stall and free bananas in Cascades shopping Centre, Portsmouth from 9 a.m. Come and find out more about Fairtrade and try a free banana donated by Fyffes.

Fri. 1st March Town Hall, Gosport,  2.30 – 4.30 p.m. – invitation only as space is limited (contact us at Gosport, to find out if any places are available) – Mayor’s Fairtrade Tea Party – speaker: Cheryl McGechie, Directorof Public Engagement at the Fairtrade Foundation. 

Tue. 5 March – FairtradeBreakfast St Mary’s 24 Church Rd, Hayling Island PO11 0NT from 8.30 a.m. to 11.45 to celebrate Havant’s 10 years as a Fairtrade Borough and Traidcraft’s 40th birthday. Try Fairtrade products. Goods on sale too.  No charge – collection

Tue. 5 March, 7 p.m. Shrove Tuesday Soup and Pancakes – Havant UnitedReformed Church, Elm Lane, Havant, PO9 1PP.  7 pm to 9 pm. A range of soups plus Fairtrade toppings for pancakes. Speaker: Chrysi Dimaki from the Fairtrade Foundation Campaigns team on #SheDeserves

Wed. 6th March,  1.30– 2pm – Catholic Women’s League meeting at St. John the Evangelist, Lee-on-the-Solent willinclude a talk about Fairtrade with a focus on women cocoa producers, and astall of Fairtrade goods for sale. 

Thurs 7th March.12-1  Fairtrade give-away at Christ Church URC Milton Portsmouth.

Fri. 8th March 10-12 a.m. – Fairtrade Coffee Morning for International Women’s Day, hosted by Stephen Morgan MP at his constituency office at 72 Albert Road, Southsea, Portsmouth PO5 2SL. Just drop in.

Sat. 9th March, 10 a.m. – 2.30 p.m. – “SHE DESERVES FAIRTRADE – You deserve chocolate!”  – a free, family-friendly event focusing on all things chocolate – informative and fun with: chocolate tasting, films and displays, Traidcraft stall, games, activities and challenges, quiz, and a raffle with Fairtrade prizes. At: Gosport Discovery Centre (in the Clarence Room). The Bookworm Cafe will be offering Fairtrade refreshments throughout Fairtrade Fortnight..
