What we do
Organise Events
We organise events and promote Fairtrade products in Fairtrade Fortnight, and get involved in local events throughout the year.
Campaign
We campaign on issues like climate change, protecting the environment and international trade - which affect both Fairtrade producers and consumers like us.
Provide Information & Resources
We offer varied ways of finding out more about Fairtrade, its effects, and the difference we can make.
Work Locally
We work in Gosport to introduce Fairtrade to schools, businesses, organisations, places of worship, and more.
What is Gosport Fairtrade Action?
Gosport Fairtrade Action (GFA), is a group of volunteers, promoting Fairtrade in Gosport, since 2006. Our members come from a range of local organisations, businesses, schools, religious groups, various political parties, and include some local councillors. We work closely with the Borough Council to make Gosport a Fairtrade Community. We are recognised as a local Fairtrade group by the national Fairtrade Foundation.
What can you do?
There are lots of ways you, as an individual or with your organisation, can get involved: from buying Fairtrade products to helping organise events or adding your voice to campaigns and more. Find out ways that YOU can join in, no matter how big or small. Simply click below to find out more.
The Environment
Fairtrade farmers protect the environment and address the challenges of climate change. Farmers say the climate emergency is one of the major threats they face. Environmental protection is ingrained in Fairtrade. To gain Fairtrade accreditation to sell Fairtrade products, farmers have to improve soil and water quality, manage pests, avoid using harmful chemicals, manage waste, reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and protect biodiversity.
